NARS Light Reflecting Sculpting Face Palette
Cult Beauty
Say hello to your festive face in a palette. A combination of the most radiance-inducing blushers, bronzers and highlighters, this is a powerhouse of brand new shades of complexion powders from Nars. Available in two varieties – light to medium and medium to deep – this is on my desk for skin refreshers before going out after work. It perks up the complexion in an instant.
Catch Me If I Fall
La Pyae Apothecary
Founder of La Pyae, Kathleen Baird-Murray was inspired by the metaphorical village that it takes to exist today – friends, family, the people who are there to catch you when you fall. But she was also inspired by the literal village in Myanmar where her ancestors are from for her debut scent. It’s a creamy, woody floral with notes of neroli, jasmine, freesia, iris, musk, cedar and sandalwood and I honestly haven’t been able to stop wearing it since I received it. And judging by the amount of people who have stopped me to ask what perfume I am wearing, it’s a wider crowd pleaser too.
Trudon Liquid Soap
Trudon Liquid Soap
OK, so I know this hand soap is on the dear side, but bear with. Housed in the most beautiful Trudon glass bottle, which can be reused and refilled over and over, what lies inside is the most beautifully crafted jasmine scent that stays on the hands long after you have washed them – and it looks a treat sink-side too.
MAC Maximal Lipstick in Ruby Woo
MAC
If you haven’t tried MAC’s Maximal lipstick yet, then what are you waiting for? A reformulation of MAC’s entire lipstick range has resulted in even longer-lasting lipsticks in silky matte textures that do not dry out the lip. In both new and existing shades, my forever favourite is Ruby Woo – the ultimate red – which works, and stays on, a dream in this new iteration.
Dr Barbara Sturm Anti-Aging Dual Serum
Dr Barbara Sturm
Why have one, when you can have two powerful serums all at once? This is exactly the ethos behind the new Dr Sturm dual phase serum, that features, on one side of the pump, their original (and brilliant) Super Anti-Ageing Serum, and on the other a ceramide-peptide complex that supercharges its results. Win-win.
Jo Malone London Fir & Artemis Eau de Cologne
LOOKFANTASTIC
Things are already starting to get festive, and this fragrance from Jo Malone London is bringing all the comfort and all the joy. With notes of leather, patchouli and oakmoss combined with fir, this green woody scent will have people stopping you to ask what you are wearing. Plus, unlike many other new fragrance offerings at this time of year, it’s a blend that you will want to wear long after the festive season is over.
Curaprox Watermelon Toothpaste
Amazon
Why not elevate the everyday with a toothpaste that looks as good as it tastes? Having always simply reached for the Colgate through force of habit, it wasn’t until this Swiss-based dental brand came across my desk that I started to question my brushing routine. This variety tastes delicious, with the added benefit of menthol pearls that burst on contact with the teeth, and a gentle whitening enzyme in the formula too. It ticks all of the boxes for me.
Nécessaire Rosemary Shampoo
SpaceNK
I am already a huge fan of the Nécessaire Eucalyptus Body Wash, and this new shampoo delivers that same fresh, herby smell, but with benefits for the hair and scalp. Considered a treatment shampoo, it’s formulated with ceramides, plant proteins and rosemary oil (if you have spent any time on TikTok over the past year, you will be familiar with the hair growth-promoting hype around this ingredient), to strengthen hair and protect the scalp skin barrier.
Velvet Smoke Baked Kiss Candle
Velvet Smoke
Speaking of festive fragrances that eschew tradition, feast your eyes on this candle from Velvet Smoke. Thanks to notes of creamy coconut milk, tobacco, tuberose, ylang ylang and sandalwood, it’s reminiscent of the tropical island getaway that we all secretly crave at this time of year. Once you have burnt all the candle away, the hand blown mottled glass tumbler is a total keepsake, too.
Merit Flush Balm Trio
Merit
Regular readers of this column will know I love Merit Flush Balm (particularly the Stockholm shade), which is why when this new set arrived at the Vogue offices – a trio of shades in adorable mini versions of the originals – it went directly into my handbag. They are the perfect gift for any Merit fans, like me, or a brilliant trial pack to for newcomers to see what all the fuss is about.
Dolce & Gabbana Beauty Everkiss Liquid Lip in Audacity
Dolce Gabbana
Feast your eyes on this sumptuous new Dolce & Gabbana Il Pranzo (meaning lunch) campaign, featuring Irina Shayk and photographed by Steven Klein. Sublime images aside, what caught my eye is that, even mid-meal Shayk’s bold red lip has stayed put, speaking to the staying power of Everkiss Liquid Lip – a highly pigmented mousse-y formula that literally does not budge. Brava.
Teresa Tarmey Anti+ Serum with Acrylic Casing
Teresa Tarmey
Teresa Tarmey’s skincare line is a concise edit of products, so whenever the A-List facialist adds to it, beauty editors sit up and take notice. That’s why, when she launched this new serum, the best of the UK’s beauty press showed up to find out what it was all about. Packed with probiotics, peptides and antioxidants, it’s a does-it-all serum with an emphasis on anti-inflammation and hydration. Totally worth all the commotion.
La Mer The Rejuvenating Night Cream
Space NK
More skincare newness comes in the form of La Mer’s first ever night cream. The new innovation has been designed to work with your skin’s circadian rhythm at night, for maximum skin replenishment while you sleep. And I can vouch for its efficacy – expect to wake up with skin that feels revived and refreshed.
Super Healthy Skin™ Ultimate Anti-Aging Vitamin Cream V2.0
Beauty Pie
Ok, so it’s been a big few weeks for skincare. Hot on the heels of the original Super Healthy Skin Cream from Beauty Pie (a fixture on my shelf for some time) comes this 2.0 version, infused with vitamins C and B to brighten and boost. It helps to transform tired or dull skin, which is always especially needed (for me, at least) at this time of year.
Bobbi Brown X Hannah Murray Collection Cream Glow Highlighter In Bare Glaze
John Lewis
If you look at make-up artist Hannah Murray’s own personal approach to product application, it’s very ’90s: smudged eyeliner, separated lashes, flawless skin. So it makes sense that her first dedicated make-up collection for Bobbi Brown (where she has been global artistic director for the past four years) is called Polished Grunge. With seven double-ended smoky eye pens and three lip and cheek oils – all of which are amazing in their own right – for me, this Cream Glow Highlighter is the jewel in the collection’s crown. It makes the skin positively gleam.
MAC Studio Radiance 24hr Luminous Lift Concealer
MAC
Those of you who might already be in the know about MAC’s Studio Radiance Foundation will know of its supremely dewy finish with added skincare benefits (if you haven’t tried it yet, but like a medium coverage luminous finish, it is a must). Now, there is a concealer with the same name. Made up of over 80 per cent skincare ingredients, such as niacinamide, vitamin C and hyaluronic acid, it glides on with ease, settles seamlessly into the face contours (without any creasing) and delivers the longwear status that is synonymous with MAC make-up. It is absolute perfection to use around the eyes to brighten and around the nose to counterbalance any redness. There is a concealer launch a minute at the moment, but this one is really, really worth a try.
Hermès Barénia Eau de Parfum
Hermes
Say hello to the first chypre in the Hermès fragrance house, Barénia. Named after a signature second-skin leather used by the fashion house for its accessories, this new scent also adopts the same second-skin status as soon as it’s applied. A labour of love that was developed over 10 years by Christine Nagel, the creative director of fragrance for Hermès Beauty, patchouli, oakwood and butterfly lily (a softer variety of its classic floral counterpart) combine in a gentle woody floral that is decidedly moreish. And just look at that Collier de Chien-inspired bottle too. From juice to packaging, it is chicness personified.
Summer Friday Jet Lag Soothing Hydration Mist
Space NK
A recent whistlestop trip to New York called for serious in-flight hydration to keep on an even keel from two bouts of cabin air in quick succession. A really fine, micro mist, it sprays on like a dream (and won’t interrupt make-up if you are applying it on top) and genuinely made a difference to keep skin happy in transit.
Balmain Beauty Sel d’Ambre
Selfridges
Balmain fragrance is back – and it is good, really good. OG perfume heads might remember Balmain’s Ambre Gris eau de parfum – it was my go-to scent some 15 years ago before it later went out of circulation when the ebbs and flows of the fashion house evolved. Now Balmain’s creative director, Olivier Rousteing, is reviving the house’s fragrance offering with the launch of the Les Éternels Perfume Collection, a line-up of eight exquisite all-gender fragrances. My favourite is this Sel d’Ambre that harks back to its predecessor with a modern-day interpretation of a smoky amber scent.
Hourglass Cosmetics Unreal Liquid Blush
Hourglass
My love for blushers is no secret, and I was reminded of just how good this one from Hourglass is when I saw it in-store at the opening of the brand’s pop-up concept store celebrating Barneys in New York. Fluid and lightweight, it blends into skin so beautifully to deliver a natural, believable flush – the kind that doesn’t really look like you are wearing any make-up, which is just how I like it.
Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask in Watermelon Pop
Space NK
The viral lip mask that needs no introduction (but just in case it does, it’s an insanely good concentrated lip balm that TikTok has gone wild for), has had a summer switch-up courtesy of a new watermelon flavour. Fresh and fruity, it’s fun for summer and beyond.
The Smooth Company Curved Smoothing Hairbrush
The Smooth Company
Postpartum hair regrowth is a wonderful thing, but the abundance of flyaway hairs that emerge in celebration do sometimes require a bit of reining in. I was recently introduced to this smoothing brush that works wonders. It does what it says on the tin: smooths hair down for a finish that is sleek perfection.
Vida Glow
Pro Collagen+ Powder
Sephora
Just when I thought I couldn’t love Vida Glow’s collagen powders (and the liquid advanced version) any more, they go and release this new supercharged version, which has the added benefit of a digestive enzyme for faster absorption, plus new tripeptide technology and a dose of hyaluronic acid that is clinically proven to deliver plumping and firming results for the skin in 21 days. I like to have one in my coffee every morning, and I have now upgraded to this formula – it’s like drinking your daily serum. A no brainer.
Estée Lauder Slick Shine and Silk Matte Lipstick
Sephora
A lipstick with both style and substance, I adore the vintage-inspired packaging. But it’s what’s inside that really counts (as we all know), and in this case that’s a high-shine, deeply pigmented formula that is marvellously modern.
Isle of Paradise Brilliantly Bright Body Polish
LOOKFANTASTIC
This smells like sunshine in a bottle, but is also the ideal product to use before jetting off holiday. The most efficient and delightfully pleasing body scrub, it leaves skin with a smooth finish, and prepped for any suncare that might follow – or self-tan, should you be in need of a bit of a glow before you go.
Chanel Hydra Beauty Micro Serum
Sephora
Is this the lip balm to end all lip balms? As regular readers may know, I am extremely partial to a nourishing moisturiser for the lèvres (the word for lips always sounds so much more chic in French), and this one ticks all the boxes: an elevated applicator, long-lasting intense hydration, and the most delicate fresh scent.
Self Glow by James Read Dusk to Dawn Overnight Glow Facial
Space NK
The king of self-tan returns. James Read, the A-List skin optimiser, has revived his self-tan brand (with a new name and a new look) to predictably rave reviews. This Dusk to Dawn overnight treatment allows you to wake up looking as though you have just returned from a sun-soaked mini break with zero effort (or jet lag). If you are seeking out a natural-looking glow, this range is sure to deliver.
Hermès Citron Vert Hand and Body Wash Glass Bottle
Shop Now
The cult favourite hand and body wash (and the accompanying lotion) from Hermès is now available in a refillable glass bottle, giving the side-of-the-sink favourite more longevity and making it an even more luxe addition to your bathroom. It’s a big yes from me.
Noble Panacea The Energist Multi Defense Lotion SPF50
Harrods
Think of this as protection on the go. A little pouch packed full of award-winning science and innovation, this latest launch from Noble Panacea fuses its high-tech skincare ingredients to correct and soothe with new technology that is activated by light, to actually protect from its rays.
Victoria Beckham Beauty San Ysidro Drive Fragrance Necklace
Victoria Beckham Beauty
On the topic of brilliant beauty products that work on the go, check out this fragrance necklace from Victoria Beckham Beauty. Even if wearing it around your neck doesn’t take your fancy, it is guaranteed to be a talking point when you pull it out of your handbag. As an aside, I have been constantly switching between this VB scent, San Ysidro Drive, and Portofino ’97 – they are somehow both summer in a bottle.
Saie Glowy Super Gel in Roseglow
Cult Beauty
When I wrote about Saie’s most excellent Slip Tint Radiant All-Over Concealer a couple of weeks ago, I didn’t know another excellent new launch was just around the corner, in the form of this new shade of their much-loved Glowy Super Gel: Roseglow. Described by founder Laney Crowell as mimicking the colour of rosé wine at sunset in the Hamptons (her stomping ground), it is the perfect golden glow make-up base for summer.
